The Historic Bourse, Philadelphia, PA
ShamrockClean is privileged to be the commercial cleaning and janitorial care provider for millions of square feet of many kinds of industrial and commercial properties. In the case of The Bourse, a historic building in downtown Philadelpha, PA., we are providing management support to the property owner/manager, sharing our leadership and organizational expertise in caring for this iconic National Register of Historic Places property.
Directly across Independence Mall from the Liberty Bell Center, The Bourse was originally completed in 1895 as the first commodities exchange in the United States. Following a circa 1980 restoration, The Bourse is now a mixed-use retail and office complex with two mall levels beneath several floors of office space; home to more than 50 businesses.
We are especially proud of our work at the Bourse, not only because it is a property so deeply rooted in Philadelphia history, but also because the building has unique needs due to its age, necessitating special care and management with “kid gloves”.
Our service to The Bourse includes management of cleaning operations and our client’s janitorial employees, with oversight of work specifications, assignments and work load balancing, daily supervision and payroll. As a building over 100 years old, special mechanical and physical characteristics require vigilance, and the mix of retail, office tenants, and a foreign consulate present complex security and other specialized needs.
While our service to client companies most frequently includes comprehensive care, providing a skilled janitorial work force as well as our leadership and management expertise, in the case of The Bourse, we are very pleased to participate as a team manager in stewardship of this special place.
The Bourse: 10 stories, 286,000 square feet of office space with 30,000 square feet of retail and a food court on the ground level.
